Colerain High School Chosen to Participate in the Cincinnati Reds Community Art Project, "Murals With A Mission"
Northwest Local School District is proud to announce that Colerain High School has been selected as one of only four schools to participate in the prestigious Cincinnati Reds Community Art Project, "Murals With A Mission."
Launched in partnership with PNC Bank in 2022, "Murals With A Mission" aims to bring forth the power of art to convey positive social messages tailored to the unique student bodies of each chosen school. This initiative underscores a commitment to uplifting communities through creativity and collaboration.
Renowned artist Brent Billingsley, celebrated for his captivating artwork showcased across the nation, has been collaborating with Colerain High School students to craft a stunning mural within the school's gymnasium. The finished mural will embody the profound sense of Colerain Cardinal pride deeply entrenched within the community's fabric.
At the heart of this endeavor are Colerain High School's Art Club and Hope Squad, who have been working collectively to bring this project to life. This dynamic group of student leaders are dedicated to capturing the hope, love, community, respect, and resilience that permeates throughout the school and they have been actively engaged in painting the mural alongside the artist, infusing their spirit into every brushstroke. The culmination of this extraordinary project will be celebrated during a special pep rally on Friday, April 19, 2024, where the vibrant artwork will be unveiled to the entire student body, the staff, and the wider community.
